Hello my name is Joseph Gagnon.
I am a freelance 3D artist with the focus of environment art,hard surface modeling and prop creation. My specialty is sci-fi theme environments. I am also a texture artist that can created both image based and node based materials.
I was a freelance environment artist and level designer for SnowDay Software. In this studio, we developed and released a game named Hovership Havoc, and I was tasked with the development and creation of props and environments.
My journey began when I was in the seventh grade working on mods for Duke Nukem 3-D and later on Doom 1/2. Throughout high school, I developed many levels/maps for popular mods of the Doom community, and gained a reputation for the creation of good quality levels. Unfortunately, I’ve stopped developing levels for mods during my early college career.
During the final years of my college education, I began to learn game development in my spare time, and soon after, I gained a huge interest in the field of environment art. As a result, I taught myself how to use modern 3-D modeling programs. I started off with the use of blender, then a year later, I moved on to Maya.
